About
Eye for an Eye Comics was founded in April 2008 by me, M.E. Baz (a recently birthed comic book geek) and Robert Santos (educator, philanthropist, and comic book fan). E4E Comics is currently in a nascent state, functioning as more of a comic book writing sandbox for me. Which basically means I publish when I’m able to (1) find an artist willing to interpret my cooky ideas and (2) raise the money to pay said artist. In the meantime, I continue to explore what is a new world for me, the world of comics.
Lemme ’splain. A few years ago, I walked into Comics Factory in Pasadena. I was trying to quit smoking and was looking for a new addiction to replace this rather stinky and cancer-inducing one. I had read some of my brother’s comics as a child, but, not being allowed to indulge in what my mother deemed to be an activity suitable only for boys, I never got beyond snagging Amazing Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, and The Incredible Hulk. I read them over and over, especially the Spider-Man volume.
So, in a way, walking into that comic book store approximately 30 years later felt like…coming home. And now I take my next daring step: comic book creator and blogger!
The Comics page contains links to original web comics. For now, there’s just my first attempt, Monkey No. 1. Please feel free to comment!
The Cracking Comics Blog finds its origins in my desire to share this journey with others, in the hopes of attracting other new comic book readers, and to provide an alternative to the plethora of industry news and book review blogs available online. I’m on the case, seeking to understand and illustrate what it is that fascinates me about comic book literature.
